Mount Saint Joseph Academy Library
Circulation Policies
The library at Mount Saint Joseph Academy has a circulating collection of approximately 12,000 print and multimedia resources. In accordance with the mission of the library, we are “dedicated to serving the information needs of the school community by providing free and open access to our print and electronic media resources.” All members of the Mount community are encouraged to borrow and use items from the collection. Borrowers must adhere to the following guidelines:
Borrowers may check out books for a period of two weeks.
To check out items, borrowers should record their name and homeroom number on the library card.
Borrowers may renew items twice.
Borrowers may check out a maximum of six items at a time.
Borrowers must return or renew items on or before the due date, which is stamped on the date due slip.
If an item is overdue, borrowers must pay a late fee of .10 cents per school day up to a total of $5.00.
If a borrower hasn’t returned an overdue book, no additional items may be checked out until the overdue item is returned and the fee is paid.
As a courtesy, the librarian will distribute overdue notices to students via the homeroom teachers on a monthly basis. Failure to receive a notice from the librarian does not exempt borrowers from paying overdue fees.
Borrowers should return all items in good condition.
If an item has been damaged during the time it was in circulation, the borrower must pay to have the item repaired or replaced.
If an item is lost, the borrower must pay to have the item replaced.
Students must return all borrowed items and pay all outstanding fees in order to be eligible to take final exams.
