Basic Functions:
The Director of Advancement assumes primary responsibility for the overall direction and leadership of all Advancement efforts for Mount Saint Joseph Academy including (1) annual, capital and endowment campaigns; special projects; planned giving; and special events; (2) prospect identification and research regarding all constituencies; (3) cultivation and solicitation of prospects; (4) volunteer organization, recruitment, and training; (5) gift accounting and acknowledgment; (6) donor recognition and gift opportunity programs; (7) marketing and public relations programs; and (8) stewardship. Working with the Principal, the Board of Trustees, and the Advancement Committee, the Director of Advancement will develop multi-year fundraising goals to meet operating budget and balance sheet requirements as well as for building the school’s endowment fund. He/she will be responsible for planning and managing the advancement programs’ budget and personnel, including the recruitment, training, and supervision of the professional fundraising team and the support staff. The Director of Advancement reports to the Principal.
Specific Responsibilities:
Assists the Principal, the Board of Trustees, and the Advancement Committee in defining advancement objectives, strategies, and steps for achieving the fundraising goals of the school.
Works with the Principal, the Board of Trustees, the Advancement Committee, and other key committees to identify, recruit, motivate, train, and support volunteer leadership.
Identifies key prospects for Mount Saint Joseph Academy and manages a professional advancement team and volunteers to cultivate and solicit individuals (alumnae, parents, grandparents), private foundations, and corporations that may be prospects for direct or indirect support.
Establishes a direct and personal relationship with Board members, alumnae, parents, grandparents, Sisters of St. Joseph leadership, and community & civic leaders.
Oversees effective operating procedures and record keeping, in coordination with the school’s business office, for receiving, acknowledging, recording, and reporting all gifts and expectancies.
Oversees the design and implementation of special events including the school’s upcoming 125th anniversary and annual Golf Tournament and public relations activities related to fundraising.
Oversees a management information system (Blackbaud’s Rasiers Edge) for measuring and reporting on advancement-related activities.
Oversees the creation of fundraising publications and related materials, including school magazine, newsletters, and annual report.
Implements fundraising programs in a timely manner to ensure capital and operating cash-flow requirements of the school.
Reporting Relationship:
The Director of Advancement will report to the Principal and will recruit, train and supervise such professional and support team as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have three to five years of fundraising experience, a working knowledge of planned giving, experience with fundraising software, and a proven ability to manage a successful full-service fundraising program. A proven track record in major gifts is considered essential for this position.
This position requires a senior-level self-starter who will set goals and see that they are met, who will maintain a direct relationship with school and community leaders, and who can passionately and persuasively translate the Mount’s case for support.

The Academy is seeking a full-time Math teacher. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree, certification or eligibility for certification. Experience is preferred. The salary is commensurate with education and experience. VOLLEYBALL COACH
The Mount Saint Joseph Academy Athletics Department is looking for a Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach for the fall athletics season. The fall season begins on August 31, 2010. The program generally runs five days a week from August 31 through November.
